'Buffy' actor James Marsters reads Cassandra Clare's new novel: Listen now
Buffy the Vampire Slayer star James Marsters is narrating Cassandra Clare's newest audiobook, Lord of Shadows - an addition to the Shadowhunters canon. Marsters made his mark on Buffy as the title character's polarizing love interest - and Clare's favorite character - Spike.

I love listening to Dresden Files...
I don't know that I can follow James down this path.

I read the first three ... maybe four ... books in the Mortal Instruments sequence and liked them well enough, but I didn't go on to read any further. I thought the earlier couple of books were better than the later ones I read in the sequence. Guess that's why I gave up.
What do you think of hte TV show?
Was there a tv show? If there is, I didn't see it. I saw the movie with Lily Collins and Jamie Campbell Bower, and it was entertaining.
Shadowhunters. Season 2 just finished.
I googled. It was on netflix, which I don't have. I don't like watching tv very much so I'm totally ignorant of a lot of tv shows till way past the event. So no, I didn't see the tv show. Did you? Was it any good?
Well...
No. The acting is actually pretty terrible, though it got better in S2. Harry Shum Jr. as Magnus is by far the best thing.
But it was one of those shows where you watch it even knowing it's bad because it's a genre you like and it's not like actively offensive or boring it's just lower quality than it could be.
So basically I can't tell you that it's good, but I'll still watch Season 3.
I'm allergic to that author :p
Exactly. Every snippet I've seen from the books is terrible. It makes a B-list TV show because they're basically rewriting everything.
I just remember when she was writing fanfic, she was one of the people I sent comments to - back when you actually had to put real effort and not just click a button - and she basically told me, "No thanks, I didn't want comments or constructive criticism." I decided right then that I wasn't going to buy anything she posted, ever.
Wh-aaaaaaat. "I didn't want comments"? Why would any author put anything into the world and not want comments.
People who don't want to read any feedback on the off chance it will influence their ability to write, from what I've heard. I don't understand it.
