I made a stand for my Guardians of the Galaxy Hotwheels

I don't collect Hotwheels as such. My wife got me the Starlord and Rocket cars for Christmas, and they've been on my desk for a while. Later I spotted Groot at a local store and bought him too. That triggered my completionist tendencies, and I picked up Gamora for a reasonable price from Amazon. Drax, was not a reasonable price, though, so I held off for months and months. On a whim I checked the toy aisle at a grocery store, and found him!
They were kind of a pain on my desk, though. I have a converting standing desk (from Varidesk, highly recommended), and they would roll around when I would raise and lower it. So I needed a stand.
The stand came together surprisingly easily. I have a hot wire foam cutter that I made at home, so I cut four slices of insulation styrofoam and glued them together at varying heights. Then I sliced off the front in an uneven pattern. I used a styrofoam putty to create raised ridges on the front and back. I decided the sides looked odd, so I added some uneven slopes, and then used more foam putty to make the surfaces more uneven in front and on the sides, and to fill in the seams. I finished with two colors of brown acrylic paint, that I randomly dipped my brush into. I'm really happy with the results!
Changes I would make if I did it again: I would make the middle two spaces wider. Groot and Rocket especially need more room. I would round the edges of the levels. Those 90° angles are unpleasing to me.
Edit: spelling.

Nice!
Thanks!
