Ok. Here is a glimpse from a project that started just over two years ago when I was lying in hospital after spinal surgery. I refused to watch any TV. Just played gentle music and drew in artist's journals all day, everyday.
It was the only way to stay focused while in that medicated fog! Each little line on the page was like a ninja mental drill. I felt like I was slipping away without it. Later, when I was better, I started developing these journal entries into a medieval style bestiary, but with monsters of the modern day.
I add a new 'monster' every couple of weeks. The monsters are actually satirical observations of human behaviour - the worst and the weakest of it.
For those interested: I have a cheapskate standing desk now, as a solution to my back needs. It's an IKEA desktop (one of those white palette shaped ones) matched with their telescopic legs, and the drafting and painting happens on an $80 tabletop drawing board I sit on top of it. I keep two IKEA raskog carts on wheels underneath it, to hold any art supplies not on the table.
Quick sketch. Not saying where I was, but I had to pay attention to what was going on, so a bit rushed.
