CEO advice I got recently - managing your schedule

I had the opportunity this week to meet with a former CEO of a public company. I respect him a ton, he's been extremely successful and will continue to be. I'm not going to say who because I didn't get his permission, but he gave me some advice that really resonated. I imagine I'll make a few posts about it, but here was the first:

As you grow, your schedule needs to get less busy rather than more busy.

He said that many/most CEOs have a problem where as their company grows, their schedule is completely overloaded with meetings and you need to fight to have it be the opposite. You need to hire people you trust to run the meetings and make the decisions and that it's my job to keep my head above the trees.
