Homemade lime cordial
I want to have a "battle of the gimlets" and try one with Rose's lime syrup and make one with homemade lime cordial. Here is the recipe I am going to use for the cordial:
Ingredients
- Zests of 6 Limes
- 1 cup lime juice
- 1 cup sugar
Directions
Make a “simple syrup” like concoction by combining sugar and lime juice in large saucepan over medium-high heat. Stir until sugar dissolves (liquid will ‘clear up’). Remove from heat and allow to cool.
Add lime zest to syrup in container with a lid and allow to infuse at room temperature for at least 10 minutes.
Strain through a fine mesh strainer into a resealable container

omg dan stop drinking at 10am!
(heads into the kitchen to zest all the limes)
Add a little zest to your Friday! (I don't know why I keep thinking in taglines.)
Marketing GENIUS
Will you be squeezing limes? That will make all the difference.
yes of course! Well, for one version. The traditional gimlet calls for using Rose's, so many prefer that over fresh limes.
I will be very interested in the final take. This is a cocktail I enjoy.
I volunteer my services as taste tester.
