    I remember my first big day job at an office that I landed after graduating from college, thinking the woman in HR was really there to look after me. I was disabused of this notion partway through my stay there.

      Yeah, I guess it's part of the job to appear as if they are looking after you? I had the same experience. It's a bit cruel, this façade.
