Private nook where I attempt to defy gravity and come out of my shell.
Greetings.
Hi, I'm Deerna. People have started calling me deedee, which is the cutest thing ever, but I also go by Misa (an old nickname) or Collie (it's a long story, and it doesn't actually involve dogs, even if that's another joke I've been running with).
As I said in this post, I'm probably going to flood this thing with fandom opinions that nobody asked for, maybe fanfiction? and lots of whining and updates on my life.
You can find me as deerna on both tumblr and AO3, and as @limeblooded on twitter. It's a locked account because I don't want my family to snoop, but anyone is welcome to follow! I'm probably putting more info in the About page.
About the Collie
I'm a twentysomething years old INTP who pretends to have a lot of free time, but really doesn't have any. I am italian, and I still live here in Italy, but I dream of traveling somewhere else, someday. I'm officially majoring in English and Russian Language and Literature, but while my English has improved through the years, my Russian still is a work in progress.
I like writing, reading and watching stuff, but I also love doing stuff with my hands. From time to time I get into some craft-type kind of hobby. I used to cosplay, and draw, and sew, and do all kinds of things, and I'm still trying new stuff (lately my thing is nail art).
I'm planning to get my degree by next year, so I'll be spending the next months preparing my dissertation. I'm probably going to whine and/or nerd about it in this blog.
Fandom life
I was writing stories about my favourite characters even before knowing what "fanfiction" or "fandom" were. I didn't know that there were people in the world that liked to do the same thing, and I when I found out I got immediately sucked in, sharing my stories on a very popular italian fanfiction platform.
As time went by, I became self-conscious of my skills as a writer. I began posting less, and practising more, studying the theory of writing, learning how to structure a story instead of 'pants-ing' it out. Around the same time I tried to write my first fanfiction in English, which received very negative feedback (I apparently didn't format the thing right and some reader got mighty pissed about it- it wasn't pretty.) I started writing in English again only around 2014, and even then my attempts have been short and scarce.
I'm the lurkest lurker that ever lurked, though. My favourite fandom activity is scrolling my tumblr dashboard looking for interesting stuff about my current obsessions and reblogging the shit out of it, flooding everyone else's dashboard because I never learned to use the queue (dear tumblr mutuals, remember I love you).
One of the reasons I joined imzy is that I plan to be less of a luker and more active, though. We'll see how that goes.
I'm currently writing fic for Kings NBC, Shadowhunters, MCU and a couple of original works, and when I'm done with those I'd like to translate my old italian fic into English.
Current fandoms
MCU: Poly because Avengers. Tony Stark and Bucky Barnes Trash (tm); I will ship them with anyone as long as they're happy, including each other. I have more headcanons than time and fantasy to write.
Steven Universe: lurking, cheering for Pearl and sketching gemsonas in the dark.
Percy Jackson and the Olympians: Nico di Angelo/happyness, with a side of doomed-to-crash-and-burn!Percy/Nico
Haikyuu!!: lurking, catching up with the anime, loving the team dynamics, shipping Asahi/Noya and Daichi/Sugawara, and we-have-history-but-fuck-no-never-again!Oikawa/Kageyama.
Coming soon
- 7 days of fandom/OTPs: couples and fandoms that gave/give me joy, with lots of meta and shit
- 14 days of writing: creative writing kind of thing
- 30 days of writing this is a more behind-the-scenes kind of thing.

I'm INTJ, myself! And I also love doing things with my hands--though I'm notoriously bad with sticking with a hobby/craft/thing once I've done it for awhile. In the past couple of years I've quickly cycled through: painting, makeup, DIY home decor, knitting, baking, and a few others I've already forgotten about. The only thing that has stayed more or less constant is writing!
I'm happy to hear about your goal of being less of a lurker on Imzy. I think (hope?) it'll be a way better platform for actual interaction. Not that there's anything wrong with lurking--that's pretty much all I did for the vast majority of my fandom career haha. And yay for writing more!! ;))
Also: Tony Stark and Bucky Barnes Trash YESSSSSS
:D yaaasss
Haha I'm happy to hear that I'm not the only one who suffers of "Mad Russian Roulette of Random Craft Hobbies: What Will It Be Today???" syndrome, like my mom called it once XDDD
I like lurking but then I see people interacting and I always think "man, that must be fun, I want in too!", so I gotta do something and put myself out there XD Hopefully it will also get my creative juices flowing again...
