I found this comic a while back that suggests that since all products are trying to catch our attention with bright colors, maybe the best strategy would be to have no marketing. What do you guys think? Could something like this work irl?




It wouldn't work for kids products-- they like the overstimulation of color.
However, the minimalism would only stand out in a product that typically is over saturated, such as a grocery aisle. In phone interfaces, on the other hand, minimalism is all too popular; everyone is "simplifying" logos and interfaces.
