Fanfiction about Dick Grayson and Damian Wayne
Late night ideas
Am I the only one who wants a 50k fic of a slow built DickDami relationship that somehow is acknowledged by both since Damian turned 16. They both kinda know that there's something between them that started of as a brotherly friendship, and just kinda developed. It's not even sexual, it's pure, innocent love at first. But Dick is hesitant because there are so many titles between them and Damian is still young. There are those moments between the two when they just look at each other and they both feel as if the other one is the only person they want to grow old with. Then Dick's friend ( Barbara) points out that he hadn't been dating in awhile and he kinda figures that's time to find a nice woman to date. And then everything goes to shit because he finds this lady, and she's perfect and whatnot, but Damian is so jealous. He doesn't show it at first. It comes of as if he's not convinced that the lady is worthy of Dick. But then he sees that Dick seems happy when with her so he realizes that she the normal choice. That Dick is entitled to normal. He deserves to be happy. Damian tries to be happy for him, but he just makes it worse for himself... he doesn't avoid Dick, but everyone can notice that Damian is quieter than usually. But they all blame it on hormones and puberty. And, because it's a slow built, there will be a lots of moments when Dick is out on a date and just enjoys himself, but he usually comes home alone. The lady insists that it's just his way to show how serious he takes it. He even brings her to the manor to introduce her to Bruce, Alfred, Tim, and finally Damian. And then when Dami turns 18 he expresses a desire to study something overboard. He lets everyone know that he will be leaving soon. When Dick finds out, he surprised. He can't shake this feeling that he will be missing something really important once Dami is gone. He tells himself he should be happy for Damian. And when it comes to the moment when Dami has to go and say goodbye, Dick finds himself lacking that something to make Dami stay, so Damian just leaves telling him to watch over Bruce while he's away. Dick is not himself anymore when Dami leaves. He cannot think straight and his relationship suffers a great deal. He works himself to exhaustion every day and night. He seems completely off to everyone. But then Tim figures it out somehow and after initial shock ( because he finds out that his older brother is in love with his younger one) he tries to confront Dick about it while not giving away too much. But Dick seems so oblivious that he starts wondering if he had maybe got it wrong. And then he sees something in Dick's apartment which is enough to confirm his suspicions so he starts researching about relationships with age difference. He tries to come up with more clues from the past, anything that would confirm that Damian might have felt the same. So he goes to Bruce and talks to him about Dick and Damian and he lets it slip that there might have been something between those two. Bruce is not convinced especially because Dick's dating that lady. He also shows that it's impossible because that would mean that the feelings started even before Damian turned 18. Tim asks him if platonic love between those two would have been wrong. And Bruce just kinda losses it. He too starts reflecting back onto his sons' brotherhood. Basically everyone comes to understand that Dick and Damian are in love. Even Jason. Bruce is against it, Tim doesn't know what to think of it, but Jason points out that it would be good to make Dick realise it... From that point on it's your choice what happens. But, maaan... there would be so much angst in it and those sad moments when it all just crumbles down.

Mmm, pining. And this perfect woman could either look suspiciously like Damian or be his exact opposite in every way (and thus not actually so perfect for Dick).
omg... Yes! Insert those conversations between her and Dick in which she would respond exactly like Damian. It is the same response Dick had hoped to get, but the person is not right. Her remarks are not followed by 'Grayson' and they don't have that slightly teasing tone to them. Maybe the first time they met she reminded him of a certain person, but he couldn't put a finger on to which one. But unlike Damian she tends to show her affections in the same way as Dick does, so she plans their second date to be in a circus, knowing it's something Dick loves. From that point on he starts feeling as if she could really understand him. But he constantly goes on repressing his desires that it's someone else he wants to spend his time with. He's uncharacteristically quiet and choses to share his story only when she asks something. So the next day he decides to take Dami to circus and that's when he realizes what it means to share something you love with someone you really care about. Aaaand... that's when denial kicks in. Oh, I'm horrible at this :D
