And Fnatic didn't get the invite compared to other teams that were being considered, Liquid, Secret, MVP (they barely got through)
It is sad to not see Fnatic get invited considering they got a top 4 placement but they only have 2/5 of the players post TI. They always seem to get bad luck, I think it's likely they will qualify regardless but some more SEA teams have stepped up to prove they can compete too with newly formed Faceless, and the new Mineski proving themselves post TI. Power gaming has been doing pretty well recently but they have banned players which is unfortunate considering they could probably beat out these other teams.
I was very surprised to see Execration get the invite, but then I remember they won MPGL which had both MVP and Fnatic in that tournament and those two teams had good TI placements, well deserved invite. I hope to see more of these teams get invited that we don't expect. It would be amazing to see Execration be a top tier team considering how hyped up Abed is, could be the next SumaiL.
I've heard this is the first time a CIS team wasn't directly invited to a major which is interesting to see, hopefully at least one of their teams can bounce back but the EU qualifiers is so stacked that I think it's unlikely.

Europe, and especially CIS, seems to be doing poorly this season- only one and a half team directly invited to the Major.
