November 1, 2016 - Dota Team The Boston Major is just one month away. Congratulations to the eight teams that battled through the Qualifiers to earn their places alongside the direct invites. While the attending teams and players make their final adjustments and preparations before traveling to Boston, we'd like to turn briefly to the remaining events in this year's Dota 2 Major Championships schedule.

I assume the separation between north and south America as well as EU and CIS will make things all the more competitive in those regions, as now I imagine that only one team from each will be able to qualify...things will, as usual, be cutthroat.
Yeah that will be really interesting to see, not sure if the standard will be ten direct invites and 1 team from each qualifier, or like maybe a wildcard tournament for the Majors now?
Either way it will be really awesome to see SA and CIS dota on the map, all regions will surely benefit from this.
SA is definitely happy about this, with Infamous's narrow defeat in the qualifiers, and it would be fun to see a team as crazy as them show up in the big leagues. CIS might be happy, as they have been having something of a slump the past year, though they do get VP and Resolut1on this time.
I'm glad Valve finally separated the EU and Americas qualifiers.
So, no winter major this year?
No, only 2 majors for the 2016-2017 season, one this fall and one next spring.
I get it, thanks
