Be Kind to Yourself
How does one "be kind to oneself"?
By refraining from beating yourself up in your head, or to others. How is it kind to yourself to continue repeating a story, either in your head or out loud, that puts you down or punishes yourself or just makes you feel bad? It's very cruel towards yourself to keep repeating a storyline that hurts you and isn't even true.
To extend your self-kindness further, release the back story (the feelings behind the story.)
When you hear yourself offering a storyline that puts yourself down, feel into yourself for the feelings that lie in your body. Those are the feelings to be released.
