The Nonnie Watering Hole. Watch out for dinosaurs.
It's Friday!
Any fannish plans for this weekend? Signing up for Smut Swap? Working on a fanwork? Catching up on canon?

Any fannish plans for this weekend? Signing up for Smut Swap? Working on a fanwork? Catching up on canon?
I decided to finally upload some of my fic to Ao3. This stuff is 6 years old now, and the fandom is almost dead, so I wasn't sure if there was even an audience for it anymore, but I got some nice comments. They're my first in more than half a decade!
Woo, that's great! I always seem to end up getting into older fandoms, so it's awesome when you find that there's an audience still there even though things look quite dead.
Yeah, I'm going to have to go through and read to see if there's any new stuff too and pay it forward.
My diabolical plan is I'm going to post all the fic that I wrote for the juggernaut and maybe get a couple people interested in the rest of my fic, and then post what I have for my rarepair otp and maybe convert one or two people.
Sounds excellent!
I promised myself I'd do a couple of fills for the promptathon at /microfic, then I guess I'll do my smutswap sign-up. Then all the usual boring weekend crap like shopping, cleaning, ironing.
Ooh, I forgot about the promptathon! I should leave some prompts for that.
question about smut swap - about request and offer: do i have to do both? is offer me offering to do a fic? or is that request? or is request what i'd like others to do? (soz for the questions, but my brain isn't grasping the inf atm)
edit, i see that offer is to do a fic for a fandom - does this mean we wait for someone to claim that offer? do you have to request something with it?
It's a match-based exchange, so, yes, the idea is that you sign up to do both: you list several offers (things that you're willing to write) and also several requests (things that you'd be interested in someone else writing for you) and then once the signup period is over, everyone gets randomly matched up to write for someone else who asked for one of the things that they offered.
If that's all a bit too complicated/too much pressure or you'd rather just write a fic without receiving one, you can browse the things that people have requested so far here and just pick one of them to write - once the signup period is over and the collection is open for uploading stories you'll be able to add yours as an extra gift for that person.
cool, thanks for clearing that up
Just finished a big work project yesterday, so hopefully I'll finally have time and brain-space this weekend to actually write a substantial chunk of this fic I've been poking at instead of just a sentence or two at a time. (Though I'll probably end up reading fic and getting stuck in a loop of checking social media sites, like the last couple of evenings I've "finally had time".)
