The Nonnie Watering Hole. Watch out for dinosaurs.
It's Monday!
Woo. Monday.
On August 22, 565, the first sighting of the Loch Ness Monster was reported...100 years after the fact by the biographer of Saint Columba, as having been seen in the Ness River. It turned back when faced with the sign of the cross. It must have taken the monster an awful long time to make it to the loch, because the next reported sighting was in 1871 (or maybe 1872).
Pull your noses from the grindstone, nonnies, and tell me what you are working on?

Compiling pictures of Doctor Doom ready to start doing a "Doom of the day" post when I create my Doctor Doom community. (This probably explains a lot about the comments to yesterday's "Are you a nonnie?" poll.)
I'm also supposed to be finishing a novel, finishing a fic, starting some other fics I promised meme, writing my Yuletide letter, revising and reformatting a fandom primer and list of recs I never got a chance to post on crack_van to be suitable for /Fandom_Dealer, watching a bunch of shows on DVD in time for Yuletide, and hopefully writing pimp posts for my small fandoms in time for nominations. I expect to achieve maybe three of these things. Four if I'm organised.
Nothing. I actually quit my job today and now I'm miserable :( not to mention poor :(
hugs
Hope you get back on your feet.
Hope you find a better one soon.
/hugs if you want them
My Imzy comm has 50+ members, but none of them are saying anything. :(
Maybe try making a poll? Who knows, it might get some of your members to participate.
I've done polls and asked questions but I think I'm overestimating investment level. I'm so excited about Imzy and my comm that I'm checking ALL THE TIME, but I'm sure other people only check back once a day, if that.
Does this have anything to do with superpowered child soldiers? If so, I always want to comment, but feel really awkward about being the only commenter.
Nah, it's a different comm. But you should definitely comment in yours! If you comment, others might get the courage to comment too.
Deets? Superpowered child soldiers is pretty much literally my id.
I'm in the same boat. I think I just might anon up and starting responding to people and take the low amount of commenting to fix up the community.
I feel you. I have a few members now but not much activity yet.
I feel like a lot of people are kind of passive/checked once and never came back to the comm. Maybe post on FFA and do some advertising?
I've just got to say between Fandom Permanon and this one, I think this one won for being the Imzy version of meme. I like the daily posts.
Classes start today and I am signed up for drumroll... none of them! So I have to go to the academic advisor and get the issues with my account sorted out in a hurry.
Only one of the classes I plan to take seems actively scary, but that one class is going to be such a drag. Numerical analysis is three hours long and doesn't end until 7:00 PM, ugh.
My real life job, alas. I just want to finish my fic, damn it, but I do too much writing during the day and then I get home and all I am capable of doing is halfheartedly playing videogames.
Are they good video games, though?
No. To my never ending shame I'm on like level 200 of Endless Frozen Free Fall, having finished the original and the Frozen Seasons levels.
I hate myself, sometimes.
Would it make you feel better if I told you that I'm impressed?
On some level yes, so thank you.
I think tonight I will drink and play Sunless Sea instead.
This is me, just meme rather than video games.
I need more ideas for stuff to do in my comm. Doing quotes of the day, trying to come up with polls (and running out of ideas for polls), trying to come up with questions (running out of ideas for those, too), replying to every comment the comm gets from people who aren't me...
Can you link video clips of canon? Fic recs? Art recs?
Ask open-ended, but super easy questions like: who is your favourite character? or What's your favourite part of canon? or When did you first get into canon? or Who is the hottest character?
(and yes, this is so much effort. But people are starting to reply! Thank god for the scheduled post, but I spend the weekend queuing up one comm, and now I'm down to one post that's going to go up tonight on the other community. Scheduled post numbers too low, must rec more things!)
Linking to clips is out, because my internet's super shitty, but I could probably do recs. I'm going to be reccing stuff for the fandom on /fandom_dealer in a few days; maybe I should rec things I won't get to rec then? *ponders*
I've already asked some of those questions, but not all of them.
Thanks!
I really like Tragic Magic Ninjas (aka the Naruto comm)'s way of posting each fic rec as its own thing: kind of turns them into their own fic discussion posts, and there aren't enough posts in general to make it spammy yet.
So do I. Even though that's not one of my fandoms, I keep looking back at that comm for ideas. The mod's got some good ones.
I'm switching between two Rare Pairs pinch hits, a /fandom_dealer primer, and my Iddy Iddy Bang Bang fic. And I really need to edit my Rare Pairs assignment.
And I'm working on eating the cheese quesadilla I just made at 2 in the morning.
/nonnie who obviously has no life and really needs to get one except her brain kinda sucks
Fandom Giftbox fill checking, so I have a shot at being on time getting a needy giftbox list. Yeah, I'm not going to make it through all the new fills today.
