Go, Tazzies! I have many happy memories of playing Taz-mania for the Mega Drive and have always been fond of them because of it.
Last fic I read was a chapter of a WIP that's OK, I guess, but I'm only reading it because it has Sirius and Lily as BFFs which is my favourite thing but sadly hard to come by.
I've had an unquenchable thirst for Kirk/Spock lately, so I read Please don't touch the Vulcans by museaway. It was satisfying fluff, though is anyone else disappointed in the lack of strange Vulcan genitals in Star Trek fic? If I wrote Kirk/Spock, there would definitely be some weird Vulcan genitals going on.
oh god, as someone who has watched Beyond in theaters three times already and is debating yet another time since my theater is apparently still showing it (which I'm not complaining about), I say, go! Your Spirk feelings will thank you, but also it is just a fun movie and everyone gets great screentime.
I just read this McDanno fanfic. I expected to read this mainly for the McDanno, and I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed Catherine's characterization in this piece. It definitely qualifies as "wish fulfillment" for Season 7 (as the author said in her author's note) since it's unlikely to happen in the show, but I enjoyed it regardless.
H50 is on season 7 now?! I mean, I knew I stopped paying attention after season 2 but, wow, time got away from me. Maybe I'll check this out and see if I still have those McDanno feels or if I'm just left confused by the apparently 5 seasons I've missed.
A Fake News fic based on the Late Show RNC sketches, The Man in the Mirror. (Mostly "Stephen"/Jon but also "Stephen"/Stephen, which is Relevant To My Interests.) I wish this fandom was still more active, because I just want all the fic about this.
Forget about not liking the pairing, I've never even consumed a single installment of this canon, and I loved this. It was so fun! I would never have found it without this rec.
Some of them are pretty big! But, I mean, it's really the small ones you have to watch out for. They might hide in your shoes.
(No, really, that is not traditional Aussie bullshitting of foreigners. This has actually happened to people I know. Although not nearly as often as spiders in shoes.)
I didn't like the last fic I read, so won't link, but argh nonnies! Why is my fandom so young and so into shallow random AUs? Like, the most popular author in my fandom (they have their own hashtag on Twitter! how?), has terrible characterisation, the AUs are all over the place, and the writing isn't engaging nor SPAG free. I can't even blame TWD, because they're not white and canonically together.
Ugh. Anyway, I've been writing a lot myself, but I'm slow and would like to enjoy some stuff in between! /brattiness
i have never heard of authors getting hashtags on twitter. just... wow. but i totally get the whole popular-but-not-great author thing. There was one super popular fic that had to make it's own tag on tumblr because apparently there were too many people gushing about it and drawing fanart that they started clogging up the pairing's main tag. Which is amazing and all but then I read the fic and was like... why? It was... sub par at best. Like, I seriously had no idea why it was popular.
Yeah, it's not so much the hashtag stuff, or even the popular-but-not-great thing. Like you said, it's more not understanding why something is popular and fandom flocks to it? Because if you don't understand, it becomes kind of alienating, since you don't understand the fandom anymore.
I saw a talk about the Tasmanian devils this summer. It was very nice to hear they might bounce back.
I also saw a Tasmanian devil. They're rather derpy in real life.

Link?
Yeah, that would be helpful, wouldn't it! It's called You Got Owl Mail (the epistolary format is only for the first couple of chapters though).

Psst. If you want some alien Spock peen, you might like Unwound. :D
omg thank you
Bless your cow, nonnie!
You and me both, nonnie. Also, "Alien biology" is a great tag if you're interested in weird Vulcan genitals.
I haven't even seen Star Trek Beyond; I have no idea why I suddenly became a slut for Spirk all over again. Maybe it was my Time.

Nice! It looks like my local theater is still showing it too. I will grab a friend who is tolerant of my fannish nonsense and go see it
I just read a really delightful Queen's Thief Gen/Attolia first time fic, and hunting left behind.
A Brazilian Politics RPF one. Was too busy laughing to pay attention to the plot.
OMG, Tasmanian Devil recovery? I would be so happy.

I just read this Naruto fic. Futanari with literal healing cock.
It was amazing.
Nonny, I don't even like Sakura/Kakashi, what have you done to me.

Australian wildlife is tough. We also have snakes that have adapted to eat cane toads! (They have done this by becoming bigger. Hooray?)
They weren't already the size of a house?
Is everything I know about Australia a lie?

Yeah, up here in Canada it's moose in your shoes. Of course then your shoes are fucked, but who's going to argue with a moose?
:))))

Ah well, I'll just have to traipse my bookmarks!
