Someone seriously needs to take Twitter away from Jared. There are probably Sith lords who would incite less acts of dickery than he manages on that godforsaken platform.
Yet again, I'm on Imzy composing lengthy comments in the time I should be using to write a novel. I know this always happens when I first get into a new site, but right at the moment, this is not good for my productivity!
Today's minor Imzy complaints are that you can't see poll results unless you vote for an option yourself first, and that the choice of "Popular" vs. "New" for comment view doesn't stick with the last setting you chose, but has to be changed every time. I pretty much never care which comment is most popular. (Unless it's mine. Then mwahahaha, bow before my awesomeness, people who have accumulated less likes than me!)
...I'm not sure I should have been let loose on a platform that has the capability for likes/upvotes. It's been like two days and I'm already missing having them when I read threads back on meme.
ETA: Also, being able to edit comments even when you're anon is really nice! Eat it, typos.
On reflection, though, re: comment editing, I'm a li'l bit perturbed that you can apparently come back hours later and alter a comment that already has replies and likes without any time-stamp or other marking to show that the content's been changed since other people responded to it. Seems pretty ripe for abuse.
It also looks like you can upvote your own comments, which is fairly harmless, but a bit daft.
Can this be the general "minor imzy complaints" thread? ... although it will get into threading, which will be a major imzy complaint, lol.
Anyway, one thing I noticed is that it'll reload a page even when I hit the back button. I think I had mentioned this to imzy staff in the past, but it needlessly uses data on mobile AND makes the browsing experience slower. I don't think in the five seconds it took me to read a post that something new has come up, and if I really want to check I could just manually reload the page.
And there should be a way to sort comments by "oldest," so you can view things in chronological order. By popularity would probably mean that all the wankiest threads get to the top.
I spent several hours last night trying to pick up writing again after years of no fic. Came up with several vague plot ideas, couldn't manage to properly flesh them out or start any scenes. Writer's block sucks.
I just got here and am slightly confused. Is there a way to make a darker background? How do I get those "imzy recommends [community I dgaf about] off my homepage? and why does the site keep sending me messages.
I haven't seen any Imzy recommends posts, I don't think, but I'm also really bad at noticing stuff like that. You could try the notifications tab under your account page. https://www.imzy.com/account/notifications
There's a few default messages that they'll send you, but if you ignore them, there's no follow up.
I went to work, traded library books, and have washed clothing so I have something to wear to work tonight. All things considered, I feel like I'm doing pretty well.
Having a bit of a profile picture identity crisis for my namespace identity here ATM. Do I go with the ol' default LJ userpic that I've had since 2003, which I copied over to Dreamwidth and AO3 so people would recognise me, or do I use with something more recent and relevant to my current fandoms that I like better? Decisions...
(Incidentally, is there any equivalent of LJ's "Recent Comments" page here? I'd like to be able to find the last few posts I was chatting on without having to remember them all and scroll back through communities.)
Click on the profile name you want to find them for, then click on the comments tab. It has a list of everything you've done under that profile name (other people can see this too).
Woo, thank you! I had a hazy feeling I'd seen that comments page somewhere when I was poking about a few days ago, but I couldn't remember how to find it again.
ETA: Ack, balls, I am thwarted by the fact I left most of my comments anon, though. [facepalm]
You can hit the "follow" button on posts you've commented in and then you'll get notified of other new comments on the post instead of just replies to your own.
Woo imzy!
I should be in bed but instead I'm reading Jared Padalecki Wank like it's 2008 again and I think that's beautiful.
The man delivers.
Oh Jesus, do I even want to know what sort of trouble he's gotten himself into this time?
Just kidding--of course I do. What is that mess of a man doing now?

Sicced his fans on a waitress by posting her picture and initials on Twitter while claiming she was responsible for the worst service of his life.
Someone seriously needs to take Twitter away from Jared. There are probably Sith lords who would incite less acts of dickery than he manages on that godforsaken platform.
I've been away from fandom for a while, so this whole waitresses thing surprised me. Any deets on other shitty stuff he's pulled?
What a flash from the past!
Between that and the Graceeeeeebooks wank, meme has turned into a complete rabbit hole for me.

You can upvote your own posts, too. Which is a little weird.
But you can't save them for later to unbury them from the feed. :(

I should be writing right now because deadlines. Or finishing up my Darkest Night letter.
Instead I keep refreshing Imzy and meme.
I'm seriously considering hauling my pterosaurs book of the shelf now, to start!
azdarchids are awesomeI should be working, but I'm trawling Imzy. Damn you, Imzy. I was going to love you and leave you in three days or less. What happened?
I spent several hours last night trying to pick up writing again after years of no fic. Came up with several vague plot ideas, couldn't manage to properly flesh them out or start any scenes. Writer's block sucks.
Are you in a new fandom? Because kinkmemes help me with this feeling a lot.
I just got here and am slightly confused. Is there a way to make a darker background? How do I get those "imzy recommends [community I dgaf about] off my homepage? and why does the site keep sending me messages.
It's all so white... and blank...
No darker background option.
I haven't seen any Imzy recommends posts, I don't think, but I'm also really bad at noticing stuff like that. You could try the notifications tab under your account page. https://www.imzy.com/account/notifications

Already fiddled with the notifications, but thanks. Ugh, it's like those friggin tumblr adverts in the sidebar but IN MY FEED why.
Messaged the site account, since that seemed to be the point of contact. Maybe I'll get a reponse.
I am doing quite well, thank you for asking! I'm mostly commenting so I can get my alternate profile for meme stuff set up, though.
All the better for learning interesting dinosaur facts, nonnie!

Upper left hand corner, your default username. Click, go to account. Go to the anonymous profile.
It holds a record of everything you've done anonymously on Imzy. Other people cannot see it.
Aha! Thank you.
I went to see Wicked with someone really nice :-)
Also failed to do any substantial fan writing today but the evening made up for it.
