Mojave

Mojave

Mojave is a schlocky thriller about a writer-turned-director who goes out into the Mojave desert to find himself and runs across a psychotic drifter.

The marketing and intent behind this film are that the drifter is his dark double and his manpainy self-finding mission is super deep. The reality is that Oscar Isaac plays the drifter like he has a weird gay crush, stealing every scene and chewing all of the scenery while delivering abominable Hamlet allusions with a totally straight face.

Mojave is not a good movie, but it is a slashy one. It is also hysterically, and often unintentionally, funny. It's worth watching just for Oscar Isaac in a little pink swimsuit. Or, you know, for stuff like the picture above. I know of zero fanworks for it, but I will most definitely be requesting it for Yuletide. Come join me!
