I think there's definitely a place for anonymous fandom chatter (especially for those not comfortable in namespace, or not comfortable again yet) that doesn't come hand in glove with FFA's particular fannish "culture", injokes, and so forth.
It's nice to just have a place to have anon fan things, you know?
When I started this comm, FFA wasn't completely anon. Now it is, oops. Still, I think of this community as a catch-all fandom space, while FFA is more for nonnies specifically.
There is some bleed through, of course. I'm a FFA nonnie and I'm active in both comms, as I'm sure other people are, but we use them differently.
I think FFA started out as a place for confused nonnies to hang out and it became sort of a launch platform for fandom on Imzy. It didn't stay that way and I'm pretty sure that most nym people who looked down on anons still do, but we did get a couple new members (we made a poll. Very scientific and statically valuable lol).

You get different stuff here, and it's more fandomy. The FFA one is more of a Imzy starter kit comm at the moment.
The FFA comm has still the same inside jokes and still holds the same grudges, but it's less fandomy and it's weird. I'm not used to this!!

Where are the non-FFA people coming from?
FFA is the second most active community, so when new users are asked to join a community, the second one they see is FFA.
What really?
