I would have to go with Tamora Pierce. I loved all her books! I think for me personally it was refreshing to also read stories about heroines. I could relate to it more. :D

I absolutely love Cinda Williams Chima! I haven't read her most recent books yet, but the Seven Realms novels and Warrior/Wizard/Dragon Heir were amazing.

Also, I met her at a convention and she's the sweetest lady in the world. :)

I've only read her Seven Realms series (plus Flamecaster) but I loved them - definitely some of my faves of recent years.

Tamora Pierce! The Immortals series was formative on so many levels.

Eeee, I love Tamora Pierce! What I'm writing right now is totally inspired by her!

Yay! I think Daughter of the Lioness was my favorite. What about you?

I truly loved the new Protector of the Small series when it came out

Oh, man, it's tough to decide, but right now I'd say it's Maggie Stiefvater. I am completely crazy about her Raven Boys tetralogy. (Tamora Pierce definitely has a special place in my heart!)

Tamora Pierce <3.<3 She got me into the whole "medieval" fantasy genre (not sure what its actually called).

Beverly Cleary, Scott O'Dell, Madeleine L’Engle (is anyone else freaking excited for the Duvernay movie?? ), Ann M Martin, Lucy Maud Montgomery...someone's going to start playing the "wrap it up" Oscar speech song soon...I LOVE READING <3<3<3

Garth Nix, at the moment. I only recently read his Abhorsen series and really loved it - and am looking forward to the next book which is coming out later this year!

Right now probably Erin Bow. I ADORE her first to fantasy novels, and her new apocafic trilogy is fascinating.

My first favourite was probably Diana Wynne Jones - I haven't read any of her books in years and I really should. I'm also forever <3ing Garth Nix. Excited for Goldenhand next month!
