Let's just talk about those stories that make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Honestly it can be anything. Fantasy/SciFi/Westerns/Romances/Historic Fiction.

What do you read that makes you feel good?

Ella Enchanted is a great one for me. 😁

The Discworld series by Terry Pratchett. Always cheer me up.

same, but I've reread most of them so many times, that it's hard to just go back.

I'd have to say Redwall, especially the feast scenes. The descriptions of food are as colorful as they are appetizing.

Lois McMaster Bujold's Chalion books, especially Curse of Chalion and Paladin of Souls both put the characters through the wringer, but the redemption at the end is so so worth it.

Raksura books by Martha Wells too. All about finding your family and making connections and love and cuddle piles (of lizard shapeshifters, but whatever).

The Name of the Wind. I know there are things that some people don't like about it, but school year style pacing, with breaks of just living in between plot points is what really does it for me, and of that kinda sub-genre, it has some very good writing.

Jane Lindskold's Firekeeper series. It starts with Through Wolf's Eyes. There's plenty of magic, and kingdoms at stake and all, but at heart it's the story of Firekeeper and Blind Seer and their journeys together.
