Writing Fantasy Moments - Misinterpretation
"Prophecy will bite your prick off every time." -A Feast For Crows
Writing prophecies and visions well is tough. Confession: I've never touched prophecies. Most of them feel forced or underwhelming or cliche.
As a reader, I know when they're done well and when they're not. Writers out there: care to share some tips on prophecy writing in fantasy?

I don't use prophecies myself mainly because they feel like straitjackets while I write.
I've had a clairvoyant or two over the years but with extremely short-term "viewing" capability so actual prophecy-prophecy hasn't really been on the table ...
Well put! The Straightjacket Prophecies! Feels like a novel unto itself.
I concur, and how cool would it be to visit some clairvoyants to gain perspective on how to write prophecy in fantasy?
