I'm of two minds about this.
On one hand, it's not actually shielded. The request will still be there. It won't take a terrible lot of savvy to find this out, especially if the abuser has access to the machine or the router it connects to.
On the other hand... we in tech have the job of making tech simpler to use. If we can make it easier to get this information... well, if it gets a few people out, the better.
