We create an immediate impression of everyone we encounter, whether online or in-person.
Tl;dr: Women, please erase yourselves entirely to help me feel more comfortable hiring you even though I'd totally rather not and it's unlikely you'd make it past the phone interview.

I like how he also specifically mentions that "likability" is a factor that can help, but then suggests that we completely obscure every single bit of our history on the internet that could possibly suggest we are a human being and thus give away our gender or ethnicity. Yeah, I'm sure robots with no identity are super likable.
Also, I'm glad that I'm not allowed to ever have a life again or connect with my friends on social media in order to be able to be successful in my career, since that's basically what he's suggesting, since otherwise it would be way too easy to connect your name with just an initial to any other social accounts you have with your name or that happen to mention something about being female or have a single photo of you, if you know how to use google for more than 3 minutes and have a last name more common than "Smith" or "Jones."
Oh I'm so glad you figured all of this out for me in a totally-not-condescending-at-all manner.
Umm, yes, that's exactly what you're suggesting.
Oh no, you misunderstand. You don't need to present as a genderless, raceless automoton all the time, just in places where important men might see you! Wouldn't want your obvious ladiness to force them to discriminate against you!
Ah, but as @purplebubblegum pointed out, you must do it always, else you accidentally be discovered through some other innocent social media where you only connect with your friends but give away some detail that connects you to your genderless, raceless automaton LinkedIn profile!
This guy sounds insufferable.
Yup. That fixes everything. No one will know who A. Sarkeesian is. As long as men continue to use their full first names it'll all be just fine and dandy. Better yet. Why don't women go back to using pseudonyms like in the 1800s. Currer Bell's book Jane Eyre was much better than that Bronte chick's.
I'm quite glad to hear that he entirely solved this problem with one simple step.
