A High School Student Accused a Classmate of Sexual Assault. Her School Suspended Her.

A high school student accused a classmate of sexual assault. Her school suspended her. Peachtree Ridge High School is a low-slung concrete building in Suwanee, Georgia, an affluent suburb north of Atlanta. School had just gotten out on Feb.

The more I think about it, the less of a difference I see in the way the Middle East and the West treat women who say they were raped, with the (sometimes) exception of the former culture being more lethal in its reprisal.

The complaint states that within days, T.M. and her parents were informed that she would be suspended, as would the boy, until the school could conduct a joint disciplinary hearing.

Oh so it's like that whole thing where even if you get punched in the face by someone in class you still get suspended even if you didn't throw a punch! Cause those work so very well and don't punish innocent victims at all.

The complaint says the officer also requested that she explain why she didn’t fight off her assailant: “Why didn’t you bite his penis and squeeze his balls?” he allegedly asked.

Well that's a fucking awful thing to say to an alleged assault victim, nice going Officer.

Besides, the reason most rape victims don't try to fight back is because they're afraid their assailant will decide to kill them instead.

Women and girls should report it if they get sexually assaulted or raped. That's what I would do! Says every MRA ever.

      • Fate_AxyomSep 22, 2016 at 12:50 PM

And what did this girl do? Oh, she did report it..

      • fluffywhitethingSep 22, 2016 at 2:27 PM

But but, the MRAs say that will make everything all better!

The Peachtree Ridge resource officer who first questioned the victim set the tenor of the school’s investigation when he asked her:

    • to describe what she was wearing at the time of the assault
    • explain why she didn’t fight off her assailant,
    • insistently to perform a re-enactment of the scene ...

      were completely inappropriate and outrageous.

Next: supending her when she self-reported the incident as a sex crime is completely indefensible.

Finally and most importantly: Schools should not be investigating and/or punishing rape It should immediately be reported to the police.

Called it halfway into the headline. I'm not even surprised anymore.
