I'm Leaving Reddit
The Critical Utopian
This is it, I guess. Last night, Americans decided that Donald J. Trump deserves to be the president of the United States. Collectively, over 58 million people went into a polling booth yesterday and decided to vote for a candidate who preys on the weak, attacks the marginalized, and is so volatile that his aids needed to take his Twitter account away from him in the final days of the campaign.

Alexis Ohanian and Zuckerberg both have blood on their hands - they allowed a racist, sexist infection to fester all in the sake of both-side-ism.
And ABC, NBC, CBS, PBS, CNN, .... If he was ignored from the beginning we wouldn't be here.
The networks didn't give a gathering place for his fan-base. Gamergate, KiA, The_Donald, MRA, those places should have been shut down.
... Twitter.
Admins knew about the brigading, the mass sockpuppet accounts and did nothing because they're just terrible people who were scared of what dealing with a backlash would entail... Ugh
Or because they support Donald. Occam's razor and stuff
They knew. They were Trump supporters
Yup. Quit reddit and Facebook both today. Also got rid of my mainstream news bookmarks.
I'm just hoping for the best, honestly. The best, of course, is brd.
Everyone will be affected by this, no matter where you are. Here in NZ, our dollar has fallen just on the election result. It's kinda like Brexit, but bigger and badder.
I guess normally Reddit defaults don't talk politics and I can assume that for the most part they are accepting people, but right now it's so toxic. I'm going to hang out on imzy for a bit but I'm still going to check out the places on reddit that I like and talk about specific things that I don't think there is a community here for yet.
Yeah, I've even seen politics on r/BeachCity and the like. It's ridiculous, it's saturated every corner of reddit.
I even saw a Trump troll on /r/mindfulness.
