We Shouldn't Get Used To Online Abuse - The Establishment
I have spent the last three days talking about online abuse. More specifically, the abuse of Leslie Jones and other black women on Twitter. I've written essays, appeared on multiple radio broadcasts, fielded hundreds of questions and comments.

I'm amazed every time somebody offers advice to the innocent: 'suck it up' or 'just don't use the Internet' or whatever. Nobody ever stops to tell the bloke on the other line, 'Hey, why don't you quit being scumbag?'
You can say something pessimistic like 'there will always be assholes,' but I think that trying to get everybody to tolerate misbehaviour is far less realistic.
I consider "just don't use the internet" to be an overt endorsement of cyberbullying.
