The anime and manga of days past.
Terra e!

Terra e! This was one of those series, one of a handful I heard of at the beginning of my animanga fannish career -- and expected would be translated into English at approximately the heat death of the universe. Then it suddenly was, timed near a brand-spanking-new anime to boot, and I was over the bloody moon with glee.
Definitely both oldschool shoujo in the emotional trainwrecks it inflicts (and in its ending, really) and oldschool sci-fi in its themes and tropes, it may not be for everyone these days but I don't caaaare ~
(I could have looked for a manga image instead but I got distracted lol)
