Favorites Unseen

The name of this post sounds very silly - how can you call a film a favorite if you didn't watch it all the way through?

Abel Gance's Napoleon - perhaps the most innovative film ever - will be getting a blu ray and dvd release in the UK in a few months, with a US release specualted soon after (in a different restored format). I've only seen clips and read books on this movie, but I can tell you that not adding it to an all time list would be a travesty of sorts.

So... what films that you've read about, heard about, or caught glimpses of (distributed or unreleased) would you consider to be favorites? Is it right to do this without fully viewing?
