Lack or no Lack of Legends today - Discussion
So two days ago we had a poll up and running and it went pretty much down to a 50-50 call of if there is a lack of Legendary footballers playing today or not.
So for those who said there is no lack of legendary players today: Besides Messi and Ronaldo, who do you consider am the legendary footballers playing today?
For those who said there is a lack of Legendary players: Feel free to comment and explain why you think so and/or why those that mention who they consider to be legendary players - Why do you not consider them as such?

I am probably not old enough to comment on this, but I feel like the "older" legends were more or less born in international competition. With less focus on the international game, because club games are now globally aired, I think that it just seems that there are less legends. When in fact, if you were to ask most club supporters, they would call some of their players legends.
That being said, I would include Rooney in the legendary category, although I am biased. I also think De Gea will be a legend when his career is all said and done.
Some of my legendary players (obviously some of not most of them are veterans):
Neuer, Buffon, Andrea Pirlo, Xavi, Iniesta, Gerrard, Thomas Muller (?)
Additional players to consider: Drogba, Totti, Dani Alves, Chiellini Frank Lampard, Samuel Eto'o
I would add Zlatan and Neymar, maybe take a few out (Gerrard, Chiellini, Lampard, I don't think they will be remembered in 25-30 years but I could be mistaken)...and there's a strong case to be made for Bale and Pogba, but we'll see how their careers evolve.
Oh, and Dinho, I don't know if he's still playing somewhere, but yes, absolute legend.
Yep he still is and yes I agree, I totally forgot him on the list. Nice addition. Kinda of got forgotten for being headlines for lots of partying and less football. He had another few good years in the top level if he hadn't parties that much unfortunately.
I would add Casillas to that list as well.
You could also make a case for Sergio Ramos I think. He might be an infuriating player, but he has a number of trophies, and his big game performances make him stand out.
