18th of February challenge: ... and a cat!
Write 1000 words and post us a link to AO3 (or other site). Fic or meta welcome, but art too (an image is worth a thousand words!). Poems are welcome, stick figures, anything ...
Involve a cat, somehow. Getting one as a pet? cat living at the Schloss and/or at Dorian's castle? Write the story from the POV of a cat? Maybe someone or some ones gets transformed into a cat? A beautiful Art Deco sculpture of a cat made out of some precious substance - what does Klaus need it for, or what does Dorian need it for, or what does Don Gian Maria need it for... or whoever? Maybe someone steals Dorian's favourite catsuit and replaces it with ... a real "cat suit" - fur, whiskers, tail, the works. Anything even remotely connected to cats goes! I'm sure you can come up with something!

What are Japanese cat islands? Are they some kind of sanctuary for cats?
Yeah, please tell more! Interesting! Maybe someone'll get inspired ...?
I feel obliged to share this page from volume 36.
From what I can gather the scene takes place on one of the Japanese "cat islands" and Mischa is responsible for hurling the cat at him, but since I don't read Japanese that's all the context I can offer.
It amused me enough that I made an LJ icon of it when I first bought the ebook, anyway:
Cute! Thanks for sharing!
FYI this scene took place not on one of the Japanese cat islands but in Malta...there are lots and lots of cats in Malta for some reason (I've been and seen them myself!). Although yes there are cat islands in Japan, too...
Thanks! I didn't pay attention that closely, I must admit, just assumed it must be somewhere like that from the sheer number of cats.
