Cross Stitch from Satsuma Street

Hi, everyone! This is my latest creation. I got the pattern for Pretty Little Tokyo from Satsuma Street on Etsy. Jody Rice is such a great designer! Are there any other cross stitchers out there?

This is GORGEOUS craftsmanship!!! Excellent choice of pattern as well.
Thank you! Can't wait to see what you make!
Oh my gosh that is beatiful!!! I love the colors and how whimsical it is! How long did it take you?
It took about three months! I started over Christmas break. I'm a grad student, so I don't have a ton of time to cross stitch. After a day of reading and a good run, it's so relaxing to turn on Netflix and do a bit of stitching. Do you stitch?
I got SUPER into cross-stitching around 10 years ago and did a whole bunch, and then for some reason I haven't really done it since. But this totally makes me want to start again! There's something very relaxing about how straightforward everything is, and yet it still requires enough work to not be dull.
There's a resurgence on Pinterest! I totally understand, I stopped for a long time and moved to sewing. What brought me back was the space and money. A good-sized tote bag can hold years of projects, and the materials are far cheaper than fabric and notions (poor grad student here).
Good point! I think I also stopped in part because it felt like more of an "old lady" thing to do, and I didn't know anyone else who did it, haha. If there's a resurgence on Pinterest, it must be hip now! (Wait, does that mean I shouldn't do it because it's too mainstream now...? Maybe I was hipster before by doing it before everyone else was!)
It's a great netflix activity if that helps!! Binge watched Once Upon a Time this afternoon while getting some quality work done :)
Ooh, great idea. I tend to not be able to get distracted while watching shows and movies, which usually means I end up playing games on my phone while watching, even though I know I don't enjoy the shows as much that way and don't get any real enjoyment out of the games. I'm just too addicted to my phone. :( Maybe taking up cross-stitching again will be a good way to help break myself of that habit!
I used to do cross stitch with my mom when I was younger. The thing I never got was, what do you do will all the finished projects? You can only have so many pillows or wall hangings. What are some different ways of displaying them? We just had bags full of finished products with nothing to do with them.
Many of mine go to my mom for presents, but I have a bag of unframed objects that I plan to use to decorate my office when I graduate from grad school and get a job.
Wow, that looks so awesome! I always start cross stitches then, I get distracted, and don't finish them. I find knitting is much easier for me to pick up and put down days/weeks/months later.
