Star Wars novels, comics, etc
My Star Wars experience has pretty much been exclusively with the movies, the clone wars and Rebels. I had read a few EU novels back in the day. I want to start reading novels and comics. I eventually want to read everything that has been deemed canon. My question is where do I start? Should I go the chronological route or do you have other suggestions? Thanks in advance for your advice.

I don't have a great reason, but I always think its best to go in publication order rather than narrative chronological order. That way you appreciate when they go back and you see younger versions of characters, etc. There are easter egg type things put into novels all set in the same world that you won't get unless you know what came before. I also think this is the best way to watch the movies.
That being said, I don't think it matters a lot with the current set of canon novels. They aren't really connected. I think if you have seen all the movies and tv shows you can read them in any random order and it probably wouldn't make any difference.
If you want canon stories:
Hmm... Depends where you want to start.
If you want the best set up to The Force Awakens read Shattered Empire comic and Before the Awakening novel, as they enlighten to movie so much!
If you want more Clone Wars, then grab Dark Disciple!
If you want to fast track to get ready for the new movie, Lost Stars covers during the Original Trilogy era, with a huge TFA tease at the end.
If you want stories to get you pumped, for the big four and their appearance in TFA, then read Smuggler's Run, Weapon of a Jedi, and Moving Target junior novels in that order (all three lead into TFA, with each one recalling a story between the movies).
If you want stories tied to Rebels, then check out these junior novels: Ezra's Gamble (Ezra/Bossk team up), The Rebellion Begins (adaptation of Spark of Rebellion with new content), and Servants of the Empire series (4 books that follow Zare Leonis and Merei Spanjaf as they deal with the Empire on Lothal, and ends, with a huge TFA teaser).
If you want a light hearted character driven story about Luke set shortly after A New Hope that is awkward, dorky, and adorable, check out Heir to the Jedi.
If you want to cover the most ground between Revenge of the Sith and lead into the Aftermath trilogy, then read Lords of the Sith, The Rise of the Empire (contains Tarkin, A New Dawn, and 3 short stories), and then Aftermath book one (the last short story from Rise of the Empire bridges A New Dawn to Aftermath beautifully).
If you want a gritty war story check out Battlefront: Twilight Company, which focuses on their journey set between Battle of Yavin, Battle of Hoth, and beyond. The story focuses on ground troops on a campaign, so it covers multiple battles, with more detail on the bigger ones.
If you want quick stories, there are 5 eBook releases. The Perfect Weapon is a spy story. All Creatures Great and Small is a storytelling story. The Face of Evil is a monster/Frankenstein story. High Noon on Jakku is a Western story. Crimson Corsair and the Lost Treasure of Count Dooku is a pirate/Mad Max story. There is a physical version of those stories (minus The Perfect Weapon) that includes two additional short stories (Unkar Plutt and the chef inside Maz Kanata's castle)!
Hope this helps!
For Legends, these books I have read, and they are a blast:
Darth Bane trilogy
Darth Plagueis
Shatterpoint
Labyrinth of Evil
Revenge of the Sith novelization
Kenobi
Scoundrels
Han Solo at Stars' End
Thanks for the suggestions guys. I went ahead and picked up the Kanan comics and Lords of the Sith
I don't think you can go in chronological order. There is always a new book and they jump all around the time line .Also there is so much coming out I don't know if you can read it all . My suggestion is think about what you like and start there . I would personally recomend the novels Lost Stars and Battlefront if you like Rebels the Kanan comics are great . Just find an area of intrest and jump in and enjoy.
You like Rebels, so I highly suggest reading "A New Dawn."
