You Can Stop Second-Guessing That Big Jon Snow Revelation from the Finale
There's no real way to really discuss this without spoilers, so let me put it this way: If you had any lingering doubts about that scene, you may put now them away. The scene, of course, was atop the Tower of Joy, as young Ned Stark arrived to rescue his sister Lyanna, only to find her dying after giving birth to the artist eventually known as Jon Snow.

Did everyone see this?? I'm semi disappointed that it was revealed like this. :/

Now we also have to find out if he's a twin...
RIGHT?? My gut says its too late to introduce a new character and/or new story arch, but we'll see.
I completely missed this. Wtf?!?!?
DOUBLE ANTI CLIMAXION
Seriously shame on them for rushing through this!!!
Lol
No shh we don't speak of that theory here.
I saw it, and honestly everyone already figured it out -- and if you didn't it was such a widely discussed theory that R+L = J was nearly impossible to avoid. So however the show decided to reveal it, in the end, it would have been a letdown. Just too many fans already knew.
I definitely agree. But to me BECAUSE it was such a widely known theory that fans at this point pretty much took to be all but confirmed truth, it should've been handled with more love and pizzazz.
It was a missed opportunity to not just tell the fans the story, but to include them (in a way) and congratulate them on figuring a monumental piece of the story out ahead of time.
I don't know if I'm expressing it fully - does that make sense?
Sure. Of course, in-show, no one has any clue. So I'm not sure how they would have added the pizzazz. But with a budget like HBO's, they could have.
What do you mean by..?
of who Jon Snow's mother or father is. They all think he is a Stark via Ned Stark
You mean the characters themselves? Yeah definitely.
Idk I just wanted more. We the fans deserve better and as you pointed out, HBO has the budget, so why the half assed shit? MEH.
Book fans knew, most people I know who watch only the show had no idea that R+L=J existed in any form. It's sort of an internet thing, where we all assume everyone consumes as much content about the show and books as we do. When we're actually a tiny percentage of the total fandom. It blew a lot of minds.
I like how they conveniently Tyrion off the chart. Gotta keep those three-headed dragon theories swirling!
Not gonna lie @kaela already ruined this one for me when we were talking about it in the /imzy offices a couple of weeks back. Sorta anti-climatic to see it spelled out like this though. Nice to see Jon is a little less of a bastard so thats great.
