In the latest trailer for Mafia III, we get a closer look at the combat skills protagonist Lincoln Clay will be employing in the game. He'll be able to handle a wide range of firearms from pistols and machine guns to sniper rifles and grenade launchers.

Yes, white kids are outraged logiced. I'm mostly posting it here to mention that Resident Evil 5 still exists.

That's a pretty sensationalist headline (though I guess it's true). Vice recently posted a slightly more nuanced interview with the game's head writer, Charles Webb -- here it is: "How 'Mafia III Intends to Make Players Confront Racism"

Really heartening to see a big-budget, fairly mainstream game get into the issue of devaluing black lives (obviously as it relates to crime and the historic racism of the Italian mob) -- hardly need mention why that's incredibly relevant at this particular moment. I really like the game's "historical pulp fiction" angle so far -- it's going to be a tricky coup, but I'm rooting for this one to pull off its narrative gracefully. Could be a watershed moment if it does.
