Gaming! So many games, not enough posts!
2016 Imzy Gaming Awards voting is now closed.
Happy Friday, Academy members!
Thank you so much for your nominations. I compiled them all and then culled a bit, removing nominations that were made only once, to get to our ballot for the 2016 Imzy Gaming Awards!
Voting is now open and will remain so until 1pm Mountain Time on Friday, December 16th.
Important Stuff:
- A Google account is required to vote, as you are only allowed to fill out the ballot once.
- You are required to vote in every category.
- Once you have submitted your ballot, you cannot go back and edit it.

There was only one category that I had a strong opinion for and that was anticipated game - I guess I've not really played anything that got nominated...
Same. I mean I played Inside and Firewatch but I don't think either is GOTY material. I made all my other choices based on what friends have said about them and what sorts of fandom they've inspired.
Clearly I should have filled out the nomination form. BT from Titalfall 2 should have been a nominee in the Character category. :-(
On a different note, if ME:A isn't the most anticipated game of next year I will completely loose my faith in humanity. :-)
Had you made that nomination, BT would have qualified. I went with Jack instead of BT though, so it's partially my fault as well.
To be fair, a new Red Dead Game was announced and ME3 disappointed a lot of people. :P
FFXV really was released at an unfortunate time for gaming awards. Truly my pick for just about everything.
We'll consider FFXV as a 2017 release for awards next year.
I had a pretty easy time with most of the categories, Game of the Year had me a bit conflicted between 2 favourites. Indie games I had to vote for the only one I'd played.
Overall, I think we should arrange an awards show where @MisterWoodhouse has to wear a pretty dress and open envelopes revealing the winners while making witty comments to the audience.
We actually are thinking about doing a live show to announce the winners.
I'd hit that... up.
Stardew Valley and Firewatch were difficult to choose from, I really enjoyed both, but other than that most categories were pretty clear-cut for me personally.
I loved FireWatch. It could have been my favorite game this year. It's either that or Rocket League. Just cause Rocket League is a game that I can keep playing all day.
Done!
Yeah, I've barely played any of these, some I haven't heard of, several I have no opinion on. Why in the world must I vote on them all, feels wrong.
I voted!
Though there was one nomination I couldn't answer for, since i didn't care for either those games. There needs to be an "indifferent" option too to avoid bloating games with votes that didn't really vote for them.
