BioShock remaster's opening compared to the original in new video

Stay Connected with Us! Follow TechnoBuffalo 2K has just released a brand new trailer for the upcoming and oft-rumored BioShock: The Collection. The trailer compares the opening of the original BioShock to the one we'll see remastered for both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One as well as the PC.

I remember being completely blown away by Bioshock's graphics engine when it first came out--- I started replaying Infinite some time last month and it still holds up. If anything deserves a refresh, it's the Bioshock series though. Bring it on, I'm curious to see how it actually looks when running on my screen.

You should definitely give Bioshock 2 a fair chance if you buy the remastered trilogy. The gameplay and level design was the best of the three here by far in my opinion. The storytelling wasn't bad either once you got past the need to retcon in the Family into the background of the first game, and the fact that Rapture is somehow still there but still burning and flooding several years later.

The first was often criticised for having a bit too black&white choices, this one definitely improves on that. There are more than just two endings, and they depend on several choices you made during the game. Choices that are a lot less clearcut than the moral "dilemma" of the first.

This is the review that convinced me to give it a fair chance. https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2010/02/08/wot-i-think-bioshock-2/

Shame Infinite wasn't anything as free-roaming and complex in themes and mechanics as was hinted in early trailers.

Always wanted to play this game, but never did. Maybe I will in September.
