Over the summer, I spent a month at Stugan, a Swedish "game development acceleration camp". That may sound like a faintly sinister concept, but it was in fact stupidly idyllic.

I've always wanted to attend a gamejam or other such gaming collaboration in person, but I've never managed to find the time. Logistically it always seems to be a pain as well (I can use my underpowered but portable laptop or my powerful-enough but... hefty laptop). Perhaps that'll be my 2017.
For people like me who don't get out much, I've found the One Game a Month challenge to have a nice community
