Let's Talk About Titanfall 2's Best Mission
A few hours into Titanfall 2's unexpectedly fantastic single-player campaign, there's a mission where everything pivots. The rules change, the story expands, and the game shifts into high gear. That mission is called "Effects and Cause," and it is really good.

I thoroughly enjoyed this mission. The level design was great in tandem with the gimmick. I was disappointed when you lost the tool. I'm not a fan of that tactic. Go through the trouble of learning the tool and mastering the tactics only to have it taken away.
It reminded me of Mario games in a way. Do you not feel the mechanic would have lost its luster over time? I feel that it did would it did in terms of interesting ideas, and then didn't overstay its welcome.
Perhaps, it just feels odd to invest in this new tool only to have it removed and not revisited. I guess I get the theory, giving you gimmick long enough to entertain but not so long as to become old hat. Plus the campaign being so short doesn't give them a good chance to revisit it without it overtaking the narrative they have. It's bittersweet.
It was really the only mission I'd call memorable. That and the factory level, but that was just decent platforming. The time jumping was unique and a nice change.
This was easily the best FPS campaign mission I've ever experienced.
That was a fun mission, kind of disappointed that it was a one off
