My fondest Animal Crossing memory!

I see that there is no Animal Crossing community, so I am posting here.

When my kids were 8 and 6, we splurged and bought them Nintendo DSes and copies of Animal Crossing Wild World. I'd been playing it for a while and thought we would have fun playing together, and we did. We would visit each other's towns, write letters, etc., but Christmas was the best.

In my copy of the game, I created a character called "Santa" and when the kids were at school, I would boot up their DSes and open their town gates. Then I'd take "Santa" into their towns, write them letters and send them gifts. I seem to remember burying items too - could you do that in WW? Anyway, it thrilled them.

Every day they would come home and look excitedly for what "Santa" had left them in the game. They could never figure out how Santa knew exactly what furniture sets they were trying to complete! I remember I had to get my other gaming friends in on it because I was frantically trying to find various pieces of furniture. It was so much fun for me as well as for the kids.

For years they believed that Santa was an actual Animal Crossing character, but I finally 'fessed up awhile ago. Now my youngest is 15 and we play New Leaf together, so I guess I started them out right.
