PS4 Gamers Will Have "Elite" Controller Options Soon

PS4 Gamers Will Have "Elite" Controller Options Soon

Many folks, myself included, scoffed at the $150 Elite controller released by Microsoft last year for the Xbox One. Then I got my mitts on when and never looked back. The Elite controller is expensive, but so lovely. There is no other controller I'd rather use and there's no other controller like it.

But why? The DS4 is a fine controller as is.

The DS4 is great, the best Sony controller in awhile IMHO, but the Elite controller is amazing (premium price notwithstanding). Makes sense for Sony to have one of their own, but not taking much as a risk since theirs will be 3rd party.

While the ps4 controller is great, I never miss a chance to try new controllers. When the planets align and I get a chance to game I tend to do it for 6 to 12 hours straight so anything that can make that experience more comfortable sounds great to me.

I hear you, that's why I like the Elite. I'm very curious to get my hands on these and try them out.

I'd settle for one with a switch to turn the light off :)

You can always use black electrical tape :-?

      • ZifOct 28, 2016 at 7:45 AM

Yeah, but ultimately it's a hack, and sometimes you need the lightbar for certain games so I'd have to uncover it and cover it again every time. It just seems silly that you can't switch it off when you don't need it. It's not that it's unsolvable, I just don't see why you wouldn't at least make it a menu option. First world problem I know haha.

It's a pain and silly that you can't turn it off. My gaming set up is by a sliding glass door and at night that light reflects off it and distracts the hell out off me.

I've never gotten how people use controllers with the joystick in the d-pad spot. I'm sure there are benefits but I've never found them.

It's funny how that's how they were originally right? Then MS changed it, which felt weird at first and just caught on.
