Nioh: Finally a Game that Puts Graphics Settings in Console Players Hands

Nioh on PS4: 1080p30 or 720p60 - you decide

More than ten years after its announcement, the PlayStation exclusive Nioh reemerges under the guiding hand of Team Ninja for release this year. On the surface, Nioh feels like a cross between Dark Souls and Ninja Gaiden 2004 and after playing through this rather challenging alpha demo - available now on the PlayStation Store - we're excited by its potential.

Whether you're a gamer that prefers a full blown 1080P experience with a frame rate of 30 FPS (Frames Per Second) or the motion fluidity of a frame rate of 60 FPS at the expense of some of that visual fidelity. You may find satisfaction is knowing that the developers at Team Ninja will finally give you that choice.

Nioh which is a PS4 exclusive is a rare example of gaming reality that recognizes two illusive aspects of console gaming life. Not every gamer wants to play a game the same way and with a console generation that has shifted to hardware architecture that gives developers more control over how a consoles resources are delegated, maybe the time has come to give the console gamer some control over the graphical settings of their games.

Is anyone else looking to give this early demo of Nioh a try?
