Why are dinosaurs everywhere in VR?
Why are dinosaurs everywhere in VR?
That's no coincidence. When done right, VR's ability to convey presence -- the feeling of actually being somewhere -- is unrivaled by any other medium. Nowhere is that more apparent than when you're craning your neck to take in the size of the zebra-striped brachiosaur lumbering through a tar pit in Crytek's Robinson: The Journey .
Uhh ... maybe it's cause dinosaurs are awesome! Jokes aside I do agree that with VR you can almost have the Alan Grant scenario when he sees the first dinosaur in Jurassic Park. The immersion factor with VR is something I believe to be very powerful and something I'm looking forward to.

I think it's because we'll never see dinosaurs in the flesh, so VR gives us the perfect opportunity to get very close to what that experience might be, albeit in perfect safety.
There's still a chance that we'll one day encounter aliens, so dinosaurs remain the impossible wonder of VR.
I'm very much looking forward to experiencing ARK: Survival Evolved in VR :)
