Ghostbusters fan game
This is probably a long shot, but is there anyone here with experience in programming games? I've been making sprites for a Ghostbusters top down shooter with RPG elements and I hope to eventually make a demo. Possibly even a full game. Right now I'm trying to finish a sheet for the team, their equipment and at least one enemy. Soon I hope to make a tile set and background elements for a full stage.
I have no programming skills myself, but I'm trying to do my best to at least make some decent pixel art for the potential project.
Any help would be appreciated. I work a 40 hour work week, but I try to work on sprites during my days off.

This isn't the kind of game programming I have much interest or experience in (I'm a visual novel developer), but as far as I can tell GameMaker might be a good fit for you, and it's on sale for as little as one dollar for the next 24 hours or so. If you miss the sale there's a free trial version.
(Note that while GameMaker can export to mac you have to be on windows to actually write the game. I got really excited about it until I realised that, sigh)
In general Humble Bundle often have sales on game making software aimed at non programmers.
Here's a thread I came across discusing options for non programmers making a top down shooter. Having tried Unity myself I would not reccomend it to anyone who can't program, I can program and found it frustratingly fiddly. But it's free and does have tutorials for this kind of game, so I guess if you feel up to learning some new skills it might be worth checking out!
Anyway, good luck!
Thank you. I hope to eventually do some studying.
I learned to program as part of a Computer Science major, so can't give much advice on that score, but I know a lot of self taught game makers who went from no programming knowledge to successfully creating games. Good luck :)
