My space for various stuff, usually involving cat pictures. I don't really have any idea what I'm doing usually.
Volkswagen wants me to know this car is for guys and only for guys

There's a dozen pictures in this brochure that feature humans. All of them are dudes doing dudely things.
I actually really like how the car handles, and even if the single turbo has a weird lag when it kicks in, the car generally feels really good.
But VW goes super out of their way to market it as a car for (young) guys.
The Jetta brochure, in contrast, does allow women. All the humans are young hip heterosexual couples. The men are always driving but hey, women are allowed to exist in this car so that's nice.

To be fair, it appears that there are buttons and women are not good at button things. This is fact based on evoluti.... hahaha.
The Jetta is for when you get a wife and a new house.
Sign me up!?
(gag)
Remember when Volkswagen had the ad campaign "Fahrvergnügen"? Then there were all the joke spin-offs like "Far From Pukin'" and "Funk -n- Groovin'".
I have no doubt it's my selection bias, but I almost never see males driving Golfs so maybe they're trying to broaden their appeal in a really crappy way.
Yeah I didn't look at the brochure for the normal golf, only for the GTI. Because it's a sports car, I suspect it's always been considered a guy's car, and marketed to them.
