The joys of wisdom tooth extraction!

The joys of wisdom tooth extraction!

Today I had one of my last two remaining wisdom teeth extracted. It was quite an experience as, of course, mine are special. sigh 😂

It so happens that they are right on the nerves on both sides. They had to take an additional 3D CT scan because they were afraid to damage it. For the tooth they decided to extract today it wasn't possible to safely do it. The plan was to saw the top half off so it would be under the gums again. Okay, not what I was expecting, but rather not lose feeling in areas of my face by damaging a nerve.

Then my bad luck continued as the equipment failed… cause why not! Took them a bit to get that all sorted. But people getting agitated due to this, especially people cutting into you, made me a bit uncomfortable. But they got it sorted, fine... people get annoyed. Even medical professionals. rolls eyes

Eventually they started with getting the top off. But apparently, the thing was really hard to saw through and break off. Took them ages and lots of force. In the end the whole wisdom tooth came out on its own. All that for nothing... and now I have to wait and see if nothing is damaged. But they assured me I would have felt it if it was the case. I'm cautiously optimistic...

Somehow I just knew I would be the odd one out of a normally standard procedure. I really don’t know why this always happens to me. At least I was somewhat prepared for it haha. Luckily the other wisdom tooth should be easier to extract! (Or so I hope)

Well, still numb but starting to feel a little discomfort. Got pain meds and antibiotics so we’ll see how it goes. Taking it really easy today! ^^
