Want to study Django Reinhardt - where should I start?

  • Jazz

I saw a local player doing some incredible stuff. He told me it was Django. Now if like to start learning some of his style. Any recommendations for tab, vids, or songs?

Check out Robin Nolan's Gypsy Jazz stuff, some paid courses & lessons but tonnes of good stuff free on YouTube etc. Best of luck! 🎶🎸

Honestly watch some of his live performances on youtube, and make sure to watch his fingers and techniques. That and with the help of some youtube lessons should help you progress

I also want to learn some of his stuff, but haven't had much time for it lately.

I'm currently learning this Minor Swing solo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VpmOTGungnA

    Using this transcription: http://www.hyperhipmedia.com/Minor%20Swing%201937.pdf

Seemed like a good place to start.
