What's your house?
All right, I haven't seen this asked yet. (Apologies if I missed an earlier post!)
What's your house?
I'm Ravenclaw, to the point that the Sorting Hat would probably have barely touched my head before announcing it. Every single test has confirmed it, including Pottermore's.
How about you? And do you think your house fits, or are you stuck in limbo between a couple of them?

Hahaha never has a username been so relevant.
Hahaha, I didn't even catch that. Well played, Badger4lyfe. Well played.
Aw. Thanks :)
I'd like to think I was Hufflepuff. When I take the quizzes however I get 50/50 Gryfindor , Ravenclaw . I'll take Ravenclaw just for the colors .
So here's my question. Does anyone ever say they are Slytherin? As far as I know, the qualification for being a Slytherin is just being kind of a bad person, so no one would ever self-select in, right?
I kind of just want to be Slytherin just because I feel like everyone hates on it so much. I mean, they are pretty badass, and I assume not all of them are literally bad, right? Between Gryffindor and Slytherin, they tend to always be the two houses getting shit done, while Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff just kind of hang out.
Maybe I'll be half Gryffindor and half Slytherin. Then I can be a super angsty HP superhero?
I have a couple proudly Slytherin friends! The Slytherin intro in Pottermore is great... basically, "Yeah, we have a lot of super-evil witches and wizards... because EVERYTHING Slytherins do is super. We're the best at whatever we do."
I feel like Slytherin gets a bad rap, not because of anything to do with Slytherin, but just because we got a glimpse into the wizarding world right in the middle of a bunch of Voldemort hysteria. Voldemort was the first thing on everyone's mind, Voldemort was a Slytherin, people tend to overgeneralize when they feel threatened... It's just bad timing.
I am a proud Slytherin! Slytherins are cunning, resourceful, and ambitious. The sorting hat was ready to put Harry into Slytherin but didn't because he literally asked it not to. All of these same qualities have also been used to describe Hermione who is still a brilliant Gryffindor. Its all about how you use these characteristics. You have Slytherins like Horace Slughorn, Phineas Black, Draco Malfoy (who was mean but when it came down to it he wasn't evil) even Narcissa Malfoy rose to the occasion. Then you have Gryffindors like Peter Pettigrew who became the right hand to the Dark Lord himself.
Our main look into Slytherin in the books is Voldemort who is the epitome of evil, and Draco/Snape who both had ulterior motives for hating Harry. For Draco (apart from being Harry's foil) Harry was all the things that were wrong, he was his father's son, being a Death Eater was his set future because it was 'right' and Harry went against all of that. He was the reason for the Dark Lord's downfall. Snake, well that's a given with Lily...
Sometimes it's unconventional. Neville was courageous because he stood up for his friends in spite of his own fear. He was a true Gryffindor. Luna was brilliant, just not in the conventional ways. She was a true Ravenclaw.
I'm a Hufflepuff. :) I always used to think I'd be a Ravenclaw, but Pottermore sorted me into Hufflepuff and I never looked back.. After reading more about Hufflepuff, I don't know what I was every thinking before! Badger pride! I mean.. we have Newt Scamander, an epic sounding common room, and we are the kindest, most loyal peeps you'll know! :D
I mean really, just.. really. I want this common room to be my real home! https://www.pottermore.com/writing-by-jk-rowling/hufflepuff-common-room
Seriously. The Hufflepuff Common Room sounds like the coziest place in the entire universe.
I always identified as a Ravenclaw, but over the past two years, I feel like I've turned far more into a Slytherclaw. But if the Sorting Hat made me pick one, I'd still go with Ravenclaw.
