Everything You Can Do With Windows 10's New Bash Shell
Windows 10's Anniversary Update brings a "Bash on Ubuntu on Windows" environment to Windows 10. But don't be deceived: This is more than just a Bash shell. It's a full compatibility layer for running Linux applications on Windows.

Aw shoot; now Win10 has my undivided attention again.
This is good stuff. It would be nice to dev on a windows system and have access to all the tools I grew up using.
I keep meaning to try out Imzy on it. See how it works.
Imzy didn't work in any text based browser I tried (lynx, w3m) but it did work in firefox when I used xming as an X server. I wonder if the text-based incompatibility will show up with anyone else.
I meant set up our dev environment with Windows 10's Bash shell.
I wouldn't be surprised it doesn't work in text based browsers, we're very JavaScript dependent, and the servers rarely, if never, return full pages.
and worse, you rely on javascript not served from domains under imzy.com... I have noscript configured to block scripts not from the same place by default, because it gets rid of 99% of the annoying slow junk while only breaking a few sites.
Should probably crosspost to /nottheonion...
