Racial Health Disparities
Health Disparities
Racism makes people sick. In the United States, blacks, Latinos, native Americans and other minority groups have greater risks of diseases like tuberculosis and coronary heart disease than whites, as numerous studies by sociologists, public health researchers, epidemiologists and physicians have found. Once they are sick, researchers say, minorities tend to receive lower quality health care than whites.
