Web Dev: Screen Resolution
I am studying front end web development and UX design. My laptop only has a 720p screen and I was wondering that for web development do I need a 1080p display - or would a 720p be sufficient?

It depends on your experience though. If you are using responsive frameworks like Bootstrap, you don't really have to worry about screen sizes bigger than 1366px wide (if working in a container). If you are making something which does not have a container and the elements are spread throughout the screen then experience factor comes in, as you would know how it will look like in a bigger screen while developing it in a respectively smaller screen.
From your reply - your fonts will look bad if you have exported them from photoshop because they have been rasterized.
Getting a higher PPI laptop will definitely work for you!
I'll preface this with I'm a backend engineer, but most designers I've talked too about it would prefer 1080.
Makes sense as when editing with Photoshop, my fonts look terrible. I guess I will need to save up for a better laptop. :)
Yes, it would be more comfortable to have a big screen, but i have small one also. You can use Chrome device emulation to see, how it looks like on bigger screens
So, basically, it's not a big problem
Do you have access to an HD TV with an HDMI input? Does your laptop have an output for an external monitor? If so you may be able to connect them.
My TV seems only to work at 720 and my laptop hasn't an HDMI port (It's pretty old) it does have the other connector but I don't have the right cables.
